Toby's Room Just got a Makeover thanks to Sobel Westex's Disney Resorts Home Collection

A new comforter set that makes kids jump for joy!

I may have received free product and/or compensation in exchange for a post. All opinions are my own.

I’m still giggling about my son Toby’s incredible enthusiasm over his new bedding set. LOL.

Yes, the Disney Resorts Bedding Collection by Sobel Westex is super fabulous.

But I was surprised to see my 7-year old more excited about his fresh new Grand Floridian-inspired twin bed comforter and accompanying pillows than the much-anticipated Dinosaur Excavation kit he received on his birthday.

This Grand Floridian bedding set is Victorian elegance meets sophistication and it works in a kid’s bedroom as much as it would in an elegant master bedroom or a classic guest room.

The double sided comforter that immediately elevated Toby’s bedroom is part of the Garden Trellis Collection inspired by the rich architectural traditions of Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort at Walt Disney World Orlando (one of my favorite hotels). I shared a bit about this awesome collection in the February issue of Mommy in Los Angeles Magazine (page 14) .

When the box arrived at home with this gorgeous bedding set, I knew it was time to give my son’s room a facelift!

For one, it seemed right on theme with his nautical-inspired bedroom.

Second, Toby’s favorite color is blue!

Toby insisted on carrying the comforter bag up to his room all by himself. Then, he pulled out the items one by one. When everything was out of the sleek, reusable, cotton canvas bag, he jumped on his bed and covered himself with the comforter bearing a type of joyous and bratty smile that’s actually very contagious. He also used a decorative pillow from the collection to rest his head:

I explained to Toby that we had to do things in order and decorative pillows are not intended for people to actually rest their heads on them.

He got up, grabbed the decorative pillows (which are decadently embroidered in luxe 300 thread count cotton satin— one with a dual diamond pattern of cool gray & navy blue, the other with a Greek key design made of blue satin ribbon) and using a disappointed but equally mischievous look, he responded with a long sigh then said: “Fine”:

When all elements of the bedding set were finally in place, I went over the comforter with a steamer, in order to smooth out creases and wrinkles. Then we posed for a mommy & son selfie that concluded our afternoon bedroom makeover activity!

Now, if you like how this looks, wait until you see all the other Disney Resorts inspired collections. As I mentioned earlier, the one currently decorating Toby’s room is inspired by the Grand Floridian, however, Sobel Westex actually introduced four collections, each themed after iconic Walt Disney World hotels— The Contemporary, The Animal Kingdom Lodge, the Polynesian Resort and again, the Grand Floridian:

These bedding collections include carefully-crafted, luxurious yet affordable, hotel quality linens, pillows, bedding and towels.

Visit Sobel Westex and check them out, including accompanying shams and accessories.

Which collection is your favorite?

Let me know if you end up getting one for your home!

In the meantime, I’ll keep coming back to this post to remember the day Toby was more excited about a comforter than he was about toys. LOL

Thanks for reading, friends!
