Vino Time!

The TOPA Mountain winery,

named after the Topatopa Mountains in Ventura County, it’s a serene and peaceful place to enjoy a crisp glass of local wine.

My sisters and I became members last year after indulging in several of their varietals and deciding we basically couldn’t continue this life without a membership. Their wine is delicious!

The winery had shut its doors due to COVID-19 but re-opened in late September/ early October with new rules & guidelines for social distancing.

We were looking for a place to celebrate my little sister Frances’ birthday and Topa Winery seemed like the ideal location.

To visit the winery, guests must make an online reservation ahead of time. Keep in mind the place is in high demand, so weekend reservations are usually booked up as soon as the winery releases available time slots (around noon on Thursdays).

Wine tastings are now served in individual plastic containers but guests are still welcome to bring their own food. My sister Irene made a delicious charcuterie board.

Prosciutto with a slice of Gorgonzola on a multi-grain cracker. This appetizer paired extremely well with Topa Winery’s 2017 Reserve Chardonnay, Bien Nacido.

Welcoming the sunset at Topa Winery is a must! The skies turn pink in Ventura County— a perfect opportunity to delight in their Rosé of Grenache

The winery itself is very flexible— they offer free Wi-Fi, the place is kid-friendly, pets are allowed, there’s plenty of parking available and the staff is lovely.

Plus, if you’re not into wine, you can enjoy a alcohol-free Rosé soda! My family had a wonderful time at Topa Winery and I hope we can return soon.

Check them out, friends... you’ll be glad you did.
