Backyard Water Park!

…Because COVID-19 Cancelled all Summer Plans

Splashes & Smiles

The only silly way we got the boys to stop reminding us about the summer vacation that never was— we had planned a Disney cruise— was to tell them we’d make a backyard water park for them.

I mean, talk about saving money! We bought a few inflatable pools, a palm tree mural (which we stapled to a cardboard box) and put together a water park ticket booth with a dollar store tray of fake money and the kids had a most spectacular time in the backyard. I had a few refreshing seltzers and yes, I jumped into the “big” pool with them but no photos of that, of course.

This turned out better

A Disney cruise would have been magical and amazing and it would have cost about $8K. Our backyard water park cost about $150. A perfect activity for a hot summer evening in the San Fernando Valley where temperatures were reaching 107 degrees!

Hooray to saving money and making great memories!

Don’t let the Pandemic bring you down, friends. Make the most of every moment.
